Suvliksay Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Named after Suvliksay, N. Nuratau. M.A. Akhmedjanov et al., 1975 (73, pp.84-85). The stratotype is in the Suvliskaya Basin.
Synonym: Suvliksayskaya Suite, Субликсайская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Upper part consists of horizons of massive cherts, limestones, and dolomites, exposed as tectonic scales on the wings of the Fazylman structure, where they alternate with meta-terrigenous formations of the Kansay suite of the Vendian-Lower Cambrian (?). Thickness is 20-100 m.
Lower part consists of alternating packages and layers of dark quartzites, graphitic-quartz, quartz-graphitic-mica, and actinolitic slates, dolomites, limestones, and cherts. Thickness is about 200 m.
The total thickness of the suite is about 300 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The contacts are tectonic.
Upper contact
The contacts are tectonic.
Regional extent
The western part of the Nuratau Range forms the core of the Fazylman Anticline, where the lowest horizons are exposed. It is an analogue of the Tascazgan Fm of the Y. Tamdytau, the middle and upper parts of the Kokpatass Fm of the Bukantau.

The Late Riphean age is established by the finds of kamazids of the family Tridiidae, acritarchs - Leiosphaeridia jacuticaTim., Chuaria">Chuaria">Chuaria">Chuaria circularis Walc., Margominuscula rugosa Naum., Satka elongata Jank., and others.
